Self-Care Social™ Panelist
FAQs
Updated May 1, 2026
YOUR ROLE
What exactly is my role as a community panelist? You are one of the featured voices in a Wellness Conversation at Self-Care Social™. This is not a traditional panel where speakers deliver prepared remarks. It is an interactive, audience-driven conversation. You will be asked 2 to 3 questions by your moderator, and then the floor opens to the audience. Your job is to show up honest, present, and ready to engage in real time.
Do I need to prepare a speech or talking points? No. You are not expected to deliver a speech or prepared remarks. You will receive your session topic and guiding questions during your virtual prep call, but the goal is a natural, honest conversation, not a performance. Come as you are.
How long is my session? Each Wellness Conversation is 45 minutes and flows as follows:
- Opening (5 min) — Your moderator sets the tone
- Guided Conversation (10-15 min) — 2 to 3 questions from the moderator
- Audience Q&A (20-25 min) — The floor opens to the audience
- Soft Close (3-5 min) — A grounding moment to wrap up
Who will be moderating my session? Each Wellness Conversation has a dedicated moderator. Your moderator's name and contact information will be shared with you via email after your participation is confirmed. You will also connect with your moderator during the virtual prep call before the event.
Who is the MC? The event MC is Jamelia Amor. She will introduce each Wellness Conversation and the panelists before each session begins. You do not need to introduce yourself from scratch.
LOGISTICS AND ARRIVAL
When should I arrive? Plan to arrive at least 90 minutes before your scheduled session. This gives us time for a brief team check-in and a chance to connect with your fellow panelists and moderator before the room opens. Your specific arrival window will be confirmed via email.
- Panel 1 (1:20 PM) — Arrive by 11:50 AM
- Panel 2 (2:20 PM) — Arrive by 12:50 PM
- Panel 3 (4:10 PM) — Arrive by 2:40 PM
- Panel 4 (5:00 PM) — Arrive by 3:30 PM
Is there a virtual prep call? Yes. A 30-minute virtual prep call is required for all confirmed panelists. This is where we walk through the session format, your guiding questions, the day-of timeline, and any questions you may have. Your prep call invite will be sent via email.
Where is the event? Artifact Events, 4325 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60613.
Where do I park? Free street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. We recommend arriving with extra time since your panelist arrival window is earlier than general event doors. SpotHero is a great option for reserving a guaranteed spot nearby in advance. Uber and Lyft drop off directly at the venue. The venue is also accessible via the Brown and Purple CTA lines at the Montrose stop.
Do I need a ticket to get in? No ticket needed. Your name is on the VIP guest list. Simply arrive and check in with our concierge team. Your access is fully complimentary.
Can I bring a guest? Yes. Panelists may bring one complimentary guest. Please complete the guest request form so we can add your guest to the list in advance.
THE EVENT EXPERIENCE
What is the Collective Exhale? Between each session, you will hear a chime. This is the Collective Exhale, a brief guided breath moment led by our MC Jamelia Amor and our sound healer. It is designed to help guests transition, reset, and arrive fully present for what is next. As a panelist you are invited to participate. It is one of the most grounding parts of the day.
What happens after my session? After your Wellness Conversation, panelists are invited to participate in the VIP Speaker Meet and Greet, an intimate gathering with VIP guests immediately following your panel. After that, you are welcome to enjoy the full event experience including the Self-Care Marketplace, Spa and Lounge Pamper Suite, Mindful Lounge, Outdoor Refuel Lounge, and all activations.
Can I sell books or offerings at the event? Yes, during the VIP Speaker Meet and Greet. This is not a vendor booth setup. Bring what fits in a tote bag: books, business cards, a QR code to your site or offer. You keep 100% of all sales. Please notify us of what you plan to bring by May 6 at [email protected].
Will I be photographed or recorded? Yes. A professional photographer and videographer will be on site throughout the event. Your session will be captured. By confirming your participation you granted permission for your image, likeness, and contributions to be used for Self-Care Social™ promotional purposes. Your media assets will be shared with you after the event.
What is the dress code? The suggested dress vibe is resort chic, but this is optional. Dress in a way that feels authentic to you and your brand. You will be photographed and filmed, so wear something you feel great in.

How am I expected to promote the event? You are expected to share your participation with your own networks before and during the event.
