Latoya has a dynamic multi-disciplinary background with more than 18 years of experience in corporate meetings, events, marketing and project management across a variety of industries. She is a visionary with a “nothing is impossible attitude.” In 2008, Latoya founded L’ Shanell + Co.,  which is a full-service event management and marketing agency that specializes in corporate, fashion, brand and social events. She also hosts networking and educational experiences for entrepreneurs through her brands Lady Boss Round Table, I Am Chicago Fashion and Event Pros Unplugged. Latoya is also the founder of e-commerce shops L’ Shanell Party Boutique and Culture Boss.

Throughout her professional career, Latoya has managed hundreds of complex corporate meetings and events nationally and internationally. She has worked in various corporate marketing departments managing strategic marketing campaigns, promotional materials, presentations, website design, email marketing campaigns, trade shows and internal and client events. Latoya has also managed client accounts for global meetings and events agencies. Types of programs planned and managed include executive strategy meetings, client events, employee incentive trips, industry trade shows, hospitality sporting events, sales meetings and multi-day client conferences with event program budgets up to $2 million. 

As a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Latoya has achieved a level of experience and education that represents the industry’s highest standard of professionalism. In 2015, Latoya was named as a top event industry leader under 40 on Collaborate magazine, “40 Under 40” list, which honors the top young event industry professionals.

Khalid B. Scott, BS, MSW, LCSW, CADC, CODP-I, C-SWHC, CWEL, CPLC, LPHA, has a Social Work career spanning over 32 years and the recipient of over 29 Social Service related awards.  

Currently he’s a LCSW/Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Specialist at the Department of Veterans Affairs and in private practice with International High Achievers.
Khalid is also a contractual trainer and college lecturer. Khalid has been a Administrator in specialized foster care, mental health and substance use disorder programs.

Khalid received his BS in Corrections and Criminal Justice from CSU and MSW from UIC Jane Addams (College of Social Work).

Khalid, whose a proud father of a UChicago medical student Anayah and in his spare time mentors both adults and youths, a Professional Life Coach, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and provides social work/clinical-based podcasts/in person trainings/workshops and is a motivational speaker.  

Khalid is a published author in 9 books and has appeared on several TV talk/radio shows/podcasts.

Khalid is a 6 time Father of the Year, 2 time Mentor of the Year, 2 time Social Worker of the Year, Chicago Defending Man of Excellence and a 10 time award winning veteran serving 9-1/2 years combined in both the US Army and Illinois Army National Guard.

Lamarr Anderson is a proud father, community advocate, and member of the Daddy Victory Club Fatherhood Advisory Committee. As a founding voice of DVC, Lamarr has been instrumental in building spaces where Black fathers can show up authentically — celebrated, supported, and equipped to lead their families with confidence.

Lamarr's personal journey through eight years of infertility, pregnancy loss, and ultimately the joy of fatherhood has shaped his deep commitment to mental health awareness among Black men and fathers. He speaks openly about the emotional weight fathers carry before and after a child arrives — and the importance of community, vulnerability, and honest conversation in navigating that journey.

Through DVC's fatherhood coaching sessions, Daddy & Me Strolls, and community programming, Lamarr helps create environments where Black dads feel seen, heard, and connected. His work reflects a simple but powerful belief: when Black fathers are whole, their families thrive.

Obari Cartman

Dr. Obari Cartman is a father, author, educator, and grassroots mental health advocate dedicated to the emotional and cultural wellness of Black communities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hampton University and a Ph.D. in clinical and community psychology from Georgia State University.

Dr. Cartman is the CEO of MANifest Wellness, LLC, a cultural wellness company that provides African-centered mental health programming, rites-of-passage initiatives, professional development trainings, and community healing experiences for schools, agencies, and grassroots organizations.

He is the immediate past president of the Chicago Association of Black Psychologists and continues to serve on the board. Dr. Obari is also the current vice president of the Midwestern Underground Railroad Network.

Dr. Cartman is the creator of MANifest, a hip-hop–based male rites-of-passage curriculum that blends African-centered psychology, cultural identity, and manhood development. The program is currently being implemented in juvenile detention centers, schools, and community settings across the country, supporting young Black men in developing emotional intelligence, critical consciousness, purpose, and healthy relationships.

He is the author of two books, including his newest release, Black Spirituality: Ancient Wisdom to Heal Generational Trauma, which explores cultural memory, ancestral practices, and pathways for collective healing.

Stephanie Sweer

Stephanie is a full time working mother of 2 with a strong passion for fitness and wellness. While stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma through the military, she gave birth to her daughters with no support of friends or family nearby to rely on for help.

Rather than giving up hope like many women do, she worked tirelessly brainstorming ideas to help other women in similar situations. In 2025 she became the owner of Fit4Mom Chicago, and pairing that with her Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis, she has created a welcoming space for mothers to socialize, workout, focus on their physical and mental health, and discuss any issues they might be experiencing.
